Privacy Policy – PDF Maestro – Merge & Split

Effective Date: April 15, 2026

  1. Introduction – PDF Maestro – Merge & Split

(the “App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile application that allows users to convert, split, and merge files (such as PDFs and other formats) entirely on their device. We are committed to protecting your privacy and processing information responsibly.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information when you use the App. It applies to users in the European Union, United Kingdom, United States (including California), Canada, and Australia.

We do not display advertisements.

In-app subscriptions are handled exclusively through RevenueCat. We do not sell your personal information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here (to the extent consent is required by applicable law).

  1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the on-device file conversion features and manage subscriptions.

A. Subscription Data from RevenueCat
RevenueCat acts as our data processor for in-app subscriptions and purchases.

It may collect:

Transaction information: purchase history, last-seen time in the App, Apple receipts, or Google purchase tokens.
Technical information: device type and operating system.
Optional information (if you enable it): App User ID or other metadata you provide.

RevenueCat stores this data on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. For full details, see RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

B. User Content (Files You Process)
All file splitting, merging, and conversion happens locally on your device. We do not collect, upload, access, or store any of your files or the content within them.

C. Automatically Collected Information
Limited device and usage data required for the App to function, for security, and to prevent fraud (e.g., IP address, device identifiers, operating system version, App version). We do not collect location data, contacts, camera/microphone access, names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment card details (handled by Apple/Google via RevenueCat), or any file contents.

  1. How We Collect Information

Directly from you: When you interact with subscription features.
Automatically: Through normal use of the App and the RevenueCat SDK.
From third parties: Subscription-related data from RevenueCat.

No information is collected from the files you process, as everything occurs on-device.

  1. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:
Provide and improve the on-device file conversion features.
Manage and verify subscriptions through RevenueCat.
Maintain App security, prevent fraud, and troubleshoot issues.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

Where required (e.g., under GDPR/UK GDPR), we rely on these lawful bases: Performance of a contract (delivering the App’s features and subscriptions).
Legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, and service improvement).
Legal obligation (where mandated by law).

  1. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We do not sell personal information. We share data only when necessary: With RevenueCat: As our processor for subscription management (see their policy).
For legal reasons: To comply with laws, court orders, or government requests; to protect our rights, safety, or property; or in the event of a business transfer.

No other sharing occurs. Because file processing is performed entirely on your device, no file data is ever shared with us or any third party.

  1. Data Retention

Files you process: Never leave your device and are not stored or retained by us in any way.
Subscription and technical data: Retained only as long as needed to provide the service, fulfill contracts, or meet legal requirements (RevenueCat’s retention practices apply to data they hold).
Other data: Deleted when no longer necessary or upon your valid deletion request (subject to legal exceptions).

  1. Data Security

We implement reasonable safeguards to protect the limited information we handle. However, no system is completely secure.

  1. Your Privacy Rights

Rights vary by location. We respond to verified requests as required by law. Contact us (Section 13) to exercise your rights. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.

A. GDPR / UK GDPR (EU and UK Users)
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection to processing, data portability, or withdrawal of consent (where applicable). You can also complain to your local data protection authority (e.g., ICO in the UK or your national DPA in the EU).

B. California Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have rights to know what personal information we collected, to delete it, to correct inaccuracies, and to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising (we do neither). We honor Global Privacy Control (“Do Not Track”) signals where required. This policy also addresses CalOPPA disclosures.

C. Children’s Privacy (COPPA – U.S. Users Under 13)
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it promptly. Parents/guardians may contact us to review, delete, or stop further collection.

D. Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)
This policy outlines the types of personal information we collect, how we collect and hold it, the purposes for its use and disclosure, how you can access or correct it, how to complain about a breach, and potential overseas disclosures (see Section 9).

E. Canada (PIPEDA and Provincial Laws)
We process personal information in line with applicable Canadian privacy laws. You may request access, correction, or withdrawal of consent (subject to legal limits).

  1. International Data Transfers

The limited subscription and technical data processed by RevenueCat may be transferred to and processed in the United States (or other countries where their providers operate). Where required by law (e.g., GDPR), appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses are used. By using the App, you consent to these transfers to the extent consent is needed.

  1. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be notified in the App with an updated Effective Date. Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
